Schedule Change for the OSS

I apologies to anyone looking forward to hearing OSS Speaker Julie Scott. I know I sure was, but it looks like Julie cannot attend in October. I wish I could talk her into changing her mind, but it is safe to say she will not be there.
If you have not heard Julie speak about her families experience with Sasquatch, it is so worth listening to. Read her great book or find her interviews on the internet. I am one her greatest fans and wih her and Wayne well.
So, that will provide an hour space that could be left for a number of things. What I thought would be nice is a panel discussion on the nature of The London Tracks found in Cottage Grove this Feb.. It will be your chance to hear it from the people on the ground that came into contact with what might be the most well docuemnted track find in Bigfoot research. It will also be your chance to hear about the more puzzeling aspects of Bigfoot behavior and how it might effect human behavior. To read more about what I mean go to Thom Powells website at

Ok, that is all for now

Three New Speakers Added to the OSS in October

Kirk Sigurdson
Kirk Sigurdson was born and raised in wine country between Salem and Independence, Oregon.  Starting at four months old, and lasting until age sixteen, Kirk vacationed with his family in the high Cascades, near Mt. Jefferson, for several weeks per year, usually in late summer.  During these annual wilderness retreats, he became acquainted with a few benevolent Sasquatches.
Upon graduating from Sprague High School in 1984, Kirk moved to the Midwest, where he attended Principia College, and then to New York University for graduate school, where he earned a Master's degree in English literature.  After writing four novels, Kirk returned to Portland, Oregon, in 1999.  It wasn’t long before he began work on a novel that drew upon his knowledge of the sasquatch phenomenon.   As research, he ventured dozens of times into sasquatch hot spots for overnighters, often with friends who shared some very unique experiences.
Kirk Sigurdson is currently a Professor of Writing and English literature at Portland Community College.  His novel, Kultus, about the sasquatch phenomenon, will be available for purchase at OSS.

 Ron Morehead

Ron Morehead is a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, private pilot, musician, developer of a local hospitality industry, and  researcher. He is best known for his audio evidence of indistinguishable vocalization, known as The Sierra Sounds. The Sierra Sounds Volume #1 "Bigfoot Recordings"/Voices in the Wilderness, which is a selection of audio clips captured by Morehead, that reveal very clear Bigfoot vocalizations captured  at a remote wilderness camp. The efforts to have these vocalization studied and authenticated started in 1978. The year long study by a Professor Kirlin states that these creatures have a vocal capability that exceeds the human vocal range. More recently, in 2008, another yearlong study was made by a crypto-linguistic team headed by R. Scott Nelson, and a complex language was discovered
