Three New Speakers Added to the OSS in October

Kirk Sigurdson
Kirk Sigurdson was born and raised in wine country between Salem and Independence, Oregon.  Starting at four months old, and lasting until age sixteen, Kirk vacationed with his family in the high Cascades, near Mt. Jefferson, for several weeks per year, usually in late summer.  During these annual wilderness retreats, he became acquainted with a few benevolent Sasquatches.
Upon graduating from Sprague High School in 1984, Kirk moved to the Midwest, where he attended Principia College, and then to New York University for graduate school, where he earned a Master's degree in English literature.  After writing four novels, Kirk returned to Portland, Oregon, in 1999.  It wasn’t long before he began work on a novel that drew upon his knowledge of the sasquatch phenomenon.   As research, he ventured dozens of times into sasquatch hot spots for overnighters, often with friends who shared some very unique experiences.
Kirk Sigurdson is currently a Professor of Writing and English literature at Portland Community College.  His novel, Kultus, about the sasquatch phenomenon, will be available for purchase at OSS.

The efforts to have these vocalization studied and authenticated started in 1978. The year long study by a Professor Kirlin states that these creatures have a vocal capability that exceeds the human vocal range. More recently, in 2008, another yearlong study was made by a crypto-linguistic team headed by R. Scott Nelson, and a complex language was discovered
